Raise Your Voice Lecture
Lecture by Anita Hill: “Responding to Gendered Violence in Society, Law and on College Campuses: From 1991 to Today”
Tuesday, Feb. 3, 7 p.m. Chenery Auditorium, 714 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI
Hear Anita Hill, the woman who captivated the nation with her testimony of sexual harassment directed at then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas in 1991, speak on gendered violence in society, law and college campuses. Free tickets for the event are available on a first come, first served basis at the reception desk in the honors college office. The Lee Honors College office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Raise Your Voice
The Lee Honors College is sponsoring and organizing a series for WMU students, faculty, staff and Kalamazoo community members who are interested in actively working to end hostility and violence against women. This is a lecture series that will take place throughout 2015. Follow the lead of nationally known artists, activists, writers and scholars in exploring the roots of the problem, challenging the status quo and inspiring others to take action. Free tickets for series events are available on a first come, first served basis at the reception desk in the honors college office. Honors College Award Winner!
Lee Honors College student Cole Villalobos won The Heart & Soul Award from the Michigan Campus Compact for his time, effort and personal commitment to the community. Cole currently serves as president of Alpha Lambda Delta, the honors society that celebrates academic excellence among first year students. Congratulations Cole!

Lyceum Lecture Series Spring 2015: Sustainable Energy Future
Wednesdays, noon to 1 p.m. in the honors college lounge
The Spring Lyceum Lecture Series, “Sustainable Energy Future,” focuses on renewable sources of energy. Faculty and staff from various programs across campus will discuss challenges and opportunities of shifting away from fossil fuels to a more sustainable system of energy. Brown bag lunches are welcome.
Mix it Up: Informational Meeting
Thursday, Feb. 5, 7 to 8 p.m. honors college lounge
This week’s Mix it Up will be a casual informational meeting and discussion of financial matters including FAFSA, budgeting strategies, and lifestyle choices. Light beverages and snacks will be provided.
Mix it Up
Mix it Up programs take place every Thursday evening (usually at 7 p.m.) and include parties, movie nights, special guests, thesis workshops, research assistance and more! Plan to keep Thursday nights free and make Mix it Up part of your weekly routine.
