Some upcoming WMU sponsored events include the following:

Communities in Schools—informational meeting about volunteering to help offer Japanese cultural programs for area K-12 students, on Friday, September 11, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., 4560 Sangren Hall. View this flier for more information.

World’s Largest Shoreline Cleanup – volunteers needed on September 19th to participate in the 2015 Adopt-a-Beach event. View the flier for more information.

Gibbs House Permaculture Research and Demonstration Site – The Gibbs House is an emerging program run by the Office for Sustainability that serves as a living laboratory for students to implement their sustainable design solutions and projects. Honors college students that are interested in volunteer or research opportunities should contact Derek Kanwischer.

Michigan Autism Conference – volunteers needed October 8th and 9th at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Downtown Kalamazoo. View the MAC 2015 Volunteer Flyer and contact Kimberly Peck if you are interested.

Art Prize 2015 -The Frostic School of Art and Extended University Programs have once again partnered to make WMU-Grand Rapids, Downtown an Art Prize venue this year! Volunteers are needed to help visitors navigate the building and enjoy their Art Prize experience at WMU. Time slots are in 3 or 4 hour increments (select more than one slot to achieve your desired 6 or 8 hour shift). Volunteers will each receive a unique gift commemorating Art Prize 2015. FOCUS Kalamazoo – FOCUS Kalamazoo is a student organization that creates and provides sustainable volunteerism, and is currently looking for students to be part of our Site Leader Program.
