Student Ambassador Program in Admissions
The application is on BroncoJobs through Handshake. There are two different positions available, Telecounselors and Gold Guides for fall 2016.

  1. Telecounselor
  • Active in recruiting prospective students, contacting them by phone to answer questions about WMU.
  • Provide campus tours to prospective students and families.
  • Serve on student panels.
  • Participate in campus-wide recruitment events.
  • Must commit to a set schedule of 8 hours per week, as well as two tours per week.
  • Hires based on student availability. Telecounselors must have 5-9 p.m. availability twice a week and two tour times (10 a.m. – 1 p.m. OR 2 – 4:30 p.m.) excluding Fridays.
  1. Gold Guide
  • Give tours to special groups of students and attend one training session per week. These students may include elementary and middle school students, scholarship recipients, and high school students.
  • Conduct regular daily campus tours for prospective students and families.
  • Participate in campus-wide recruitment events.
  • This position offers a more flexible schedule. It is possible for a Gold Guide to give anywhere from 2 to 5 tours per week, depending on availability.
  • Hires based on student availability. Gold Guides are required to have two mornings open, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. twice a week, excluding Fridays, and one night a week for training from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

Important info:

*Ambassadors must maintain a 2.5 cumulative gpa.

*All hires based on availability, and ambassadors are expected to maintain that availability each semester.

*New ambassadors must be available to attend an overnight retreat September 16-17, 2016.

*Some weekend hours will be required throughout each semester.
