Community Service – Week of Oct. 24

Any opportunity listed on this website can be used to meet the honors college volunteer requirement. If you’re looking for an off-campus opportunity, FOCUS Kalamazoo is always a wonderful resource.

Kalamazoo Drop-In Child Care Center
Need community service hours? Consider volunteering at the Kalamazoo Drop-In Child Care Center (KDCCC) supplies drive. KDCCC is an organization that offers free, short-term childcare for low income families. They will be collecting goods such as juice, crackers, baby wipes, etc. KDCCC needs these supplies in order to keep the children they care for happy and healthy!

The supplies drive will take place over the course of two events. You can sign up and help out (and gain volunteer hours) at one or both:

Event One: Oct. 29 – 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to tour the childcare facility and post fliers advertising the supplies drive to neighborhood residents in the Kalamazoo and Portage areas. Sign up here. Registration ends Oct. 23 at 11:59 p.m.

Event Two: Nov. 12 – 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to collect supplies from neighborhood residents, deliver the supplies to KDCCC and tour the facility. Sign up here. Registration ends Nov. 6 at 11:59 p.m.
