The Lee Honors College offers many cultural and social events designed to build community and expand horizons. Honors students are required to attend four honors college sponsored events in their freshman year and two in their sophomore year. Students receive credit for attending by swiping their Bronco Cards with a member of the honors college staff, and remaining for the duration of the program. All students are welcome and encouraged to participate in as many events as possible to enhance their educational experience at the Lee Honors College.
Need to de-stress before finals? Come join us for the last Mix-It-Up of the semester Thursday, Dec. 8 from 7 to 8 p.m. for some much needed yoga! Get in the zone to do well on your finals! Because of the limited physical space, we will be capping attendance at 40 people. Click here to RSVP. This is a great opportunity to obtain event credit and prepare your mind and body to relax before final exams. Healthy refreshments will be served.
If you’re in need of another stress reduction activity before finals, join Dr. Richard Oxhandler Friday, Dec. 9 from noon to 1 p.m. in the honors lounge for a meditation session.
2016 Honors College Event Highlights
On Nov. 18, honors students enjoyed the annual Bronco Buddies trip to Indiana with Advising Graduate Assistant, Trevion Thomas. The group met with the elementary students that they have been mentoring all semester for a day of games, fun activities and refreshments!
Bronco Buddies is a pen pal program in which honors students partner with Indiana-area elementary school children to provide mentoring and information about college. Mentees exchange emails, participate in Skype sessions with the class and meet their buddies during the much-anticipated (optional) yearly visit. Interested in becoming a Bronco Buddy? Contact our graduate assistant at email@example.com for more information and to sign up.
